SAXUM VELUM (stone sail)

1996, bronze / granite, 92"h x46"w x38'd (233 x117 x96 cm)

available

saxum velum - loosely translated from Latin: stone sail

Typically a 'sail' takes it form from wind current - a very ephemeral force. In Saxum Velum the sail is granite, completely antithetical.

This inherent irony creates a compelling visual,

conceptual and gravitational tension common in much the artist’s work.
